Healthy Bedrooms

Today we are looking at the environment where we spend possibly one third of our life.

When we get into bed a good habit is to recount all the things you have to be grateful for over the past day. Think of:
* the fun you’ve had/who you laughed with
* your exercise for good health
* what you’ve learnt today
* what you’ve achieved for yourself
* how you’ve helped others

Natural bedding, organic cotton, hemp or linen, and a carefully selected pocket spring or latex mattress is good for achieving rest and recuperation each night.

One item that affects health negatively is the digital clock radio; it impacts on our energetic body and our ability to heal. A room must be dark; no red standby lights or other electrical goods in this space, including electric blankets. The mobile phone should be left in another room; or at least an arms length from your head. A watch with a battery must be well away from your body too.

If you go to the toilet during the night, don’t switch on the light. Doing this will reset your body clock to ‘sunrise’ and it’ll be difficult to return to sleep, resulting in poor Melatonin production. This chemical, manufactured by your body while you’re sleeping, is a secret to good health.

Thank you,
Betty
