Feng Shui Bathrooms

Let’s start with some common sense points for a bathroom before moving onto the Feng Shui requirements:
* Good ventilation is important. An extractor or an easily opened window with a security latch, so that condensation leaves the bathroom, and you stay safe. This room must discard it’s moisture to avoid mildew and keep the occupants healthy.
* A generous mirror, to reflect daylight, with task lighting nearby allows for careful face and hair checking.
* Something white – it represents cleanliness and purity.
* Candles or an oil burner (representing the element of Fire)
* Ceramic tiles or pottery (representing the element of Earth)
* Metal or chrome handles or rails (representing the element of Metal)
* Water is integral to the bathroom (representing the element Water)
* A moisture-loving plant such as a Maidenhair (represents Wood)

If a bathroom is positioned opposite the front door attach a “return” from a hardware store. This will prevent visitors from looking directly into this private space.

Ideal bathroom colours are pearlised cream, pastel pink, pale aqua or soft blue; the hues you might see in a pearl. Add plenty of white then relax and enjoy this cleansing space.
